
My Health Journey
In 2014, I hit a health wall. For more months than I could count, my energy levels were the lowest they had ever been. Really showing up for my life was so hard. I was doing what I thought was healthy; what would bring my energy up. For three years I had been a vegetarian and and putting exercise into my schedule much more than I wanted to. I was taking vitamins and trying to stay creative through a travel blog. It felt like I doing all the right things but was only getting worse.
I suffered from poor (slow) digestion, rosacea, extreme fatigue, migraines, brain fog, terrible nose bleeds, achy feet/joints, bloating and chronic constipation.
Finally, these symptoms pushed me to go and get a blood analysis at the hospital. I truly thought that I might have had a serious underlying health issue that I wasn’t aware of. No matter what I did I was in a fog all day long and wanted to nap whenever possible. When I actually would let myself nap, sometimes I couldn’t fall asleep despite my tiredness. Other times I would fall asleep and wake up not rested at all. When I got my bloods tests I was at a loss. They and physician check-ups told me that I was completely healthy. How could I feel so terrible but be considered healthy? I knew that the way I was feeling was not how I wanted to feel the rest of my life. There was no way that that was how “healthy” should feel.
My Line in the Sand
Taking my energy-levels into my own hands, I followed my bio-individuality and updated my lifestyle and eating habits. Research was my second job, I read books and articles, watched documentaries and Youtube videos. Tried numerous amounts of methods and protocols until I started to notice little improvements. The largest catalyst in the return of my health was adopting a whole-foods, plant-based lifestyle. I regained my mental clarity and no longer needed daily naps. My vibrancy finally began to come back more and more. I couldn’t believe it!
Today I have more energy than ever before and am able to travel, explore, and enjoy getting together with friends — I’m truly able to live life to the fullest. I know now that health is not a destination, it is a journey. Everyday is a chance to get healthier and feel better. Taking care of ourselves is a true reflection of the respect that we have for the people and the world around us. I was able to raise my frequency through simple, healing changes and I will be forever grateful for the knowledge I gained through this experience.
